North East Museums is a regional museum, art gallery and archives service. We manage twelve museums and galleries across North East England and the Archives for Tyne and Wear.

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join this award-winning service; we are seeking to recruit an Administrative Assistant to join our team to support our 3 fantastic venues in Northumberland. The venues are Woodhorn Museum in Ashington, Hexham Old Gaol and Morpeth Chantry Bagpipe Museum.

 

This is a busy and rewarding role where you will play a key part providing administration support to managers and our staff teams to help us achieve our exciting and ambitious plans. Every day will be different with tasks ranging from liaising with staff and customers at Woodhorn and Hexham sites to creating and maintaining admin records.

You should have a willingness to learn new skills and have demonstrable experience of working in busy office environments. Good oral and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to deal with people at all levels in the organisation, and to work flexibly with venue team. You should be computer literate with a good working knowledge of MS Office 365 software packages, especially SharePoint, Teams, Excel, Word and Outlook.

 

As the role will require you to support a range of different locations excellent organisational, time management and prioritisation skills are needed. The role will mainly be based on site at Woodhorn Museum but you will also be required to work at different sites on occasion in line with our agile working policy to meet business needs.
