Salary: £46,142 – £49,282 per annum (Pay award pending). Please note it is North East MSA policy to appoint at the starting point of the salary band.

Are you a creative digital storyteller who knows how to turn complex information into engaging, audience-focused content?

We’re looking for a Senior Digital Content Officer to lead the delivery of compelling content across our websites and social media channels, helping to tell the story of the Mayor, the North East Mayoral Strategic Authority and the positive impact we are making across the region. This is an exciting opportunity to shape our digital presence, ensuring the right messages reach the right audiences in ways that inspire engagement and action.

Working closely with colleagues across communications, marketing, technology and external partners, you’ll take ownership of our digital channels, providing expert advice on content, accessibility and best practice. You’ll oversee our digital brand, create and commission high-quality content, and ensure our websites and social media platforms are aligned with wider communications priorities and campaigns. As a trusted advisor, you’ll champion excellent user experience, clear governance and a consistent tone of voice across all digital content.

We’re looking for someone who combines creativity with a data-driven mindset. You’ll use audience insights, performance data and SEO best practice to continually improve reach, engagement and user journeys, while identifying emerging trends and opportunities to innovate.
