About the job
The college currently administers its own supply pool of staff for assignments on a casual basis and is available for individuals who wish to undertake lecturing, learner support or administration work.
Opportunities occur across the entire College curriculum and in the various administrative centres within the College, together with Adult Learning courses at various venues within the local community.
Assignments can be as little as a couple hours a week up to full time working and many supply pool staff have gone on to hold fixed term and permanent posts within the College.
Assignments may involve contact with children under 18 or vulnerable members of society, therefore, under Part V of the Police Act 1997, all individuals engaged in such occupations are required to obtain a certificate of disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service. This must be carried out before any work is offered.

About the Role
We are seeking experienced and motivated Supply Tutors to join our Business Development Team, delivering high-quality adult learning across the North East. This is a flexible role ideal for skilled tutors who are passionate about upskilling employed individuals and supporting unemployed people to gain the skills and confidence needed to secure sustainable employment or progress into further education.
You will deliver engaging and impactful training to both employees and job seekers, working closely with employers and individuals to support workforce development and progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver accredited and non-accredited training sessions to adult learners
- Support employed learners to develop skills, performance, and career progression
- Support unemployed learners to build confidence, develop employability skills, and move into employment or further education
- Adapt delivery to meet diverse learner needs, including those facing barriers to work or learning
- Work collaboratively with employers and stakeholders across the region
- Maintain accurate learner records and contribute to quality assurance processes
Areas of Delivery
We are particularly interested in tutors with experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Health and Social Care
- Early Years
- Education
- Team Leading and Management
- Employability Skills
- Customer Service
About You
- Proven experience in delivering adult learning or vocational training
- Relevant occupational competence in your subject area(s)
- A recognised teaching or training qualification (e.g. AET, PTLLS, or equivalent)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to engage and motivate learners from a wide range of backgrounds
- Experience supporting individuals with barriers to employment or education is desirable
- Flexible approach and willingness to travel across the North East
