TWAM Enterprises Ltd facilitates commercial activities on behalf of North East Museums. North East Museums manages twelve museums and galleries across North East England and the Archives for Tyne and Wear.

 

We are seeking enthusiastic, customer focussed Retail & Hospitality Assistants to join our team and assist mainly in the operation of our café, shops and in the preparation and running of events at our Newcastle upon Tyne Venues. These venues include the Laing Art Gallery, Discovery Museum and Great North Museum: Hancock. The role is particularly suited to candidates who are available to work weekends and during school holidays. Working hours will vary according to the needs of our cafés, shops and events, with regular weekend availability being essential to be considered for the role.

 

You will deliver excellent levels of customer care and engagement to all visitors. This will involve operating the electronic point of sale to transact cash and credit card sales and reconciling café takings. You will also be required to help prepare and serve food, making hot drinks and carrying out cleaning duties as required.

 

We may also require you to help in the preparation of the venue prior to events, undertake visitor assistance and queue management as needed, and supporting the de-installation and clearing-up of the venue upon completion.
