Housed in the beautifully restored Grade II listed Mount Oswald House, The Story brings together some of the region’s most important historic collections. It’s a vibrant cultural hub where families, researchers, and local communities come to discover personal and shared histories through exhibitions, events, hands-on digital tools, and brand-new research spaces.

 

WHAT IS INVOLVED?

As a Front of House Officer, you’ll be one of the first friendly faces our visitors meet. Your mission is simple: make every visit smooth, memorable, and inspiring.

WHAT WILL I NEED?

 

The role requires a NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.  You should also have a first aid at work qualification (or willingness to work towards it).

INTERVIEWS

 

It is anticipated that interviews will be held week commencing 1st June 2026.
